Where do I start?
See your High School Counselor, an Aztec Middle College Career Coordinator or an Aztec Middle College Teacher.
Visit an Aztec Middle College program at West, East, Northwest and Desert Vista Pima Community College (PCC) Campuses.
Take a tour of one of the four Campuses and visit with Aztec teachers and students.
Talk to your parents/guardians or high school counselor about this program and how it may meet your specific needs.
Admission Requirements
Prospective Aztec Middle College students must be between 17 and 21 years of age and have completed a minimum of ten (10) high school credits.
Prospective Aztec Middle college students are required to attend an orientation, complete an application packet, which includes 150-200 word essay, and submit a Pima Community College application. Students will also be assessed by Pima Community College Advising. Upon acceptance, the student must submit a copy of all high school transcripts, a high school withdrawal form, current immunization records, and a birth certificate.
The final step involves an interview with an Aztec Middle College (AMC) teacher.
To Maintain Academic Standing in Aztec Middle College:
Aztec Middle College students will be enrolled in a full high school class schedule. Aztec features small classes workshops, computer assisted learning, and individualized academic plans.
Aztec students are required to earn a minimum of two and one-half credits (two of which must be non-elective credits) per semester.
AZTEC Middle College students will be concurrently enrolled in at least one (1) Pima Community College course each semester. All courses must be successfully completed. Students are responsible for paying Pima Community College tuition, although some students receive scholarships to cover the tuition. Information about scholarships is available from an Aztec College Career Coordinator.
Aztec Middle College students selected to participate in the program are expected to participate with 100% attendance.
